The film focuses on two teenage sisters who magically swap bodies after wishing on a shooting star. I’ve never watched Grey’s Anatomy and I’ve only seen her in Knocked Up (2007) and 27 Dresses (2008), but when her filmography includes rom coms with Gerard Butler and Ashton Kutcher, I feel pretty confident in saying that they are not an ounce as good as Wish Upon a Star. I learned that some kids call their parents by their first names, what stick shift is, what a hickey is, different ways to make wishes, including breaking wishbones and throwing pennies in a toilet, and that some people vandalize bathrooms with lipstick. The movie taught me so much about life in general. I was a three-year-old on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, not a ten-year-old on a carousel. And then there was Hayley’s love interest, Simon, who is better known as the fourth brother in Hanson (I kid, I kid). I’ve always felt cool watching shows that the older kids were watching. Look who’s not grungy anymore!Īnd thanks to my older sisters, I’ve always recognized Alexia’s boyfriend, Kyle (Don Jeffcoat) as one of the hosts of Nickelodeon’s Wild & Crazy Kids. And I wish I could have worn the tall knee socks with platform heels like all of Alexia’s friends, but I was 4 years old when the movie came out.Īnd thanks to Alexia’s help, Hayley’s style went from over-sized olive green shirts to a cute floral dress with a denim vest over it.
